Mickey Guyton’s touching, autobiographical song “Black Like Me” has received a special visual courtesy of American figure skater Starr Andrews.

The video captures a 19-year-old Andrews in her element on an ice-skating rink, as she performs the beautifully choreographed sequence to Guyton’s empowering anthem.

“I want to thank Mickey Guyton for singing this wonderful song, ‘Black Like Me.’ It inspired me so much that I just had to skate to it,” Andrews said at the start of the clip. The sequence was choreographed by Derrick Delmore and “honors the struggles that African-Americans have and still are enduring.”

“I can’t even. This is so special!” Guyton wrote on her Facebook page after catching wind of the video. “You are amazing Starr Andrews, thank you so much for this. ✊🏾💜💜💜 #blackgirlmagic #whentheyseeus.”

Last week, the country singer dropped the poignant “Heaven Like Me,” a song that finds her pleading to God for “a little more heaven down here” if He has “a little love back in [His] back pocket.” It follows the previously released songs “Black Like Me” and “What Are You Gonna Tell Her.”

Guyton is gearing up to release her highly anticipated new EP this Fall.
