The dreamlike film take makes it feels as though the viewer has gone back in time with the country singer, in hopes of having a simple girls’ night with the ladies she’s looked up to her whole life.

Paying tribute to the women of country that paved the way for female artists in the format nowadays, Stephanie Quayle honors her heroes in the new music video for her single, “Drinking with Dolly.”

Bringing back old-fashioned elements like dial radios and black-and-white television, Quayle mirrors the poise of her country icons in the performance-based music video. The dreamlike film take makes it feels as though the viewer has gone back in time with the country singer, in hopes of having a simple girls’ night with the ladies she’s looked up to her whole life.

“’Drinking With Dolly’ is so special because the beautiful women in this song have helped shape me into the artist I am today,” Quayle said. “I remember racing to the barn and listening to country music on a tiny little AM radio. That is where I fell in love with music. From the front porch, to the barn, to nervously getting ready in a HS bathroom with my guitar, these moments are my story. What better way to express how much this song means to me than to take it back to where it all began.”

The single, which represents a soft yet simple sound for Quayle, shows great promise in her hopeful wish to sit down and chat with the women who made it big in country, like Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette. Making the bold statement in a very calming way, Quayle steps onto the scene with her nonchalant approach to the genre she’s grown up around and makes it her own.
