The Band Perry is back… but this time, their new music is heading to pop radio.

On Thursday evening (Feb. 2), Kimberly, Reid and Neil shared with their fans that they’d be releasing the track “Stay In The Dark” as the first song from their debut pop release, My Bad Imagination.

“We’ve made an album for you. Creating it has been the most exciting thing we’ve ever done,” they wrote collectively in a note posted to social media. “It’s led us to disrupt everything that was comfortable and familiar to us a short year ago. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in making it it’s this – being yourself matters. It matters even when not everyone agrees that you should be or understands why it’s important that you are.”

Coinciding with the new single is a new look for the sibling trio, who sported much darker clothing and hair in a photo teasing the project. Clad in leather, the Perrys new look is a far cry from the band that started in 2009 with “Hip To My Heart.” The look is another reinvention of the trio as Kimberly changed her notable blonde locks for a natural look that matched her brothers when they released “Comeback Kid” last fall.

“One of the biggest things that we wanted to do in this next phase for the band is show complete transparency…” Neil told us previously. “Visuals mean a lot, you know, it holds hands with the music and these colors sort of show rebirth and that something’s come back new again.”

“Stay In The Dark” follows The Band Perry’s last single “Comeback Kid.” The song peaked at No.39 on Billboard Country Airplay chart.

No release date or additional information for My Bad Imagination has been revealed as of yet.
