Marking the first track released from the This Is Us star’s upcoming album debut, the track is built on top of a smiling, sunny-country sound, with live instruments and Metz’s undeniably powerful vocals leading the way. Feeling in some was like a throwback to country divas of the ’90s, the anthemic track is all about looking for answers to life’s biggest questions … and finding more of a “who” than a “why.” It was written by Nicolette Hayford, Connie Harrington, Jake Mitchell, fellow country star Ashley McBryde and Aaron Raitiere.
“‘Talking To God’ is a song about those moments when we ask the questions we desperately want the answers to,” Metz says of the uplifting song. “Whether it’s a lost love or why our own lives look much different than the way we had hoped they would. It’s about those personal prayers and conversations we have while listening and learning to surrender and trust in the bigger picture.”

It's here and it’s surreal. From the moment I heard the first verse, I felt so compelled to tell this story. I've lived it and I think we all have. Listen to #TalkingToGod now: link in bio & story. I hope you guys love it! 🌼 Shout out some very special folks for writing this beautiful song… @NicoletteHayford, @craeallday, @JakeMitchellMusic, @AshleyMcBryde, and @AaronRaitiere 💗
