It’s no secret that Thomas Rhett’s single, “Die A Happy Man,” has been blowing up the charts since its release. Six weeks strong at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart is no easy feat, even for the biggest of artists. So what was the major key to his success with the song?

Rhett credits his wife, Lauren, for her endless encouragement toward his career and personal life. In fact, Lauren actually inspired him to write his big hit and to include more slow love songs on his album. He also gives her praise for being the best wife he could have ever asked for.

“She is the best. She really is a huge blessing in my life. She’s the reason for so many good things in my life. So very, very thankful for her,” said Rhett in a recent interview.

To make all the fans swoon even more over their relationship, Rhett said Lauren keeps him in check and inspires him to be a better person overall.

“Oh, every day when I talk to her at 11 o’clock in the morning on a Sunday when we’re on the road and I’ve got a headache ‘cause I drank too many beers last night and she just left church. It’s one of those things where she’s constantly making me feel like I need to up my game, just as far as being a man in the marriage and stuff.”

Surely it can be said that Rhett knows one key to success and that is a happy wife means a happy life.
