Trace Adkins Announces New Album, ‘Something’s Going On’

“Something’s Going On” alright because Trace Adkins is gearing up to release his 12th studio album on March 31. The diverse project, entitled Something’s Going On, will include 12 songs written by some of Nashville’s most well-known tunesmiths like Tyler Farr, Craig Campbell, and Shane McAnally. The album’s lead single will be the McAnally co-penned track “Watered Down.”

“When I first heard ‘Watered Down’ I felt an immediate connection with what I wanted to say. A man comes to a point in his life where he begins to reflect on his past and what he’s learned and that’s what fueled this song,” said Adkins. “If you’ve led the kind of life I’ve led, at some point you have to temper your vices.”

“Watered Down” will hit country radio beginning March 13, but fans can get a taste of the track with the singer’s new lyric video, which features Adkins enjoying the simple life out on his Nashville farm.

The new project is Adkins’ first since 2013’s Love Will…, which debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

In addition to releasing new music, Adkins will embark on a 2017 tour, which kicks off on Feb. 4 in Orlando, FL. With each ticket order, the singer will offer a physical copy of the new album. VIP packages are also available during select tour dates.
