The rubber meets the road in a new track from Travis Denning, as the rising star tributes drive and determination in “Goodyears.”

Co-written by Denning with Tony Martin and Cole Taylor, the slow-rolling anthem features a heart pounding top-down-stereo-up sound, and started out as part of the guitar slinger’s live show. But with circumstances calling for people everywhere to downshift their lives, Denning came to rethink the song’s theme of celebrating the journey just as much as the destination.

“This song has always been somewhat of a creed for me,” the Georgia native says. “I was raised by two parents who believed the good in life isn’t given, it’s earned. I grew up surrounded by people who knew that, and knew that sometimes the things we work for don’t come easy. There’s no denying the bad times make the good even better. But when they do come, we sure know how to stop and take it all in. I think that’s something we can all relate to right now.”

“Rollin’ on them Goodyears, flyin’ on them high times / Circle K cold beer, growin’ up on a Friday night / Between the bottom fallin’ out to the river runnin’ dry / We drop it down in drive on them dirty 35s / Just keep on doin’ how we do it to get through it ’round here / Rollin’ on them Goodyears,” goes the chorus.

“Goodyears” follows the first Number One hit from Travis Denning, “After a Few,” and his current radio single, “Beer’s Better Cold.” Both tracks appear on his 2020 EP of the same name, and “After a Few” is nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year at the upcoming CMT Music Awards (October 21).
