Travis Tritt pines for the good-old days in his new single, “Smoke In a Bar,” and the ’90s country favorite brings them back in its official music video.

A nostalgic country-rock ballad dedicated to better years — or at least ones that seem that way when you look back on them — the new track finds Tritt recalling the past. Reminiscing fondly about a time when life moved slower, the news told the whole truth and “you could smoke in a bar,” it’s a back-in-my-day anthem with a touch of sadness in the delivery. But for the video, Tritt embraces the present.

Directed by David “Doc” Abbott, clip finds Tritt cruising back roads and city streets, riding a Harley Davidson and stopping in to chat with old friends. He heads out from his Georgia mansion and rides along curvy roads lined by forests of Spanish moss, and even stops to help change a tire as he sings of fond memories and the old ways … suggesting maybe the these are good-old days, too.

“My, oh my, ow times have changed / But man sometimes I miss them old days / They say we’ve come a long way / But I’d say, it’s a little bit too far / From when the world turned slower / And you could smoke in a bar,” goes the rose-colored remembrance.

“Smoke In a Bar” is part of a new album from Travis Tritt, titled Set In Stone and set for a May 7 release. The project features 11 new songs produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), and marks Tritt’s first album of new originals since 2007’s The Storm.
