Rising artist Willie Jones blurred genre lines and broke boundaries earlier this year with his album Right Now. Now, he’s back with a summer anthem and aptly titled new single, “Down By The Riverside.”

Penned by Jones, Josh Logan, and Jason Afable, the country-trap song drips with swag, infectious beats and an undeniably country lyric that Jones is proud of.

“You can find me out where the corn and the cotton grow / Way down south cracking bones, slamming dominos / Welcome to the ratchet black zydeco rodeo /  Boss hog I′m a dog, I′m a billy goat / Down by the riverside, by the riverside,” Jones sings and raps euphorically on the fiery summertime tune.

“This song is straight Louisiana jambalaya: Swampy, Sexy and drippin’ all over the floor,” Jones says in a press statement. “Jason, Josh and I have a great chemistry and this one hits hard from that first harmonica lick and keeps you greasy ‘til the end.”

“Down By The Riverside” marks Jones’ first release since inking a deal with Sony Music Nashville in exclusive partnership with The Penthouse. It follows his aforementioned full-length album Right Now, which dropped earlier in January. The 12-track record features the powerful “American Dream,” as well as “Back Porch” and “Trainwreck.”
