Year in Review: 2019’s Country Music Babies
There were so many new parents this year!
Country music experienced a baby boom like no other in 2019, as 20 families grew in size throughout the year. Many of these families are first-time parents like Kane Brown and Brett Young, while other stars like Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean went from having families of three or more!
Look back at the precious new faces in the country music world below:
Steve Moakler – After almost 24 hours of labor, Steve Moakler and his wife Gracie became parents when they welcomed their son into the world. The couple shared the news on Jan. 5, making Jackson Thomas’ birth an eventful start to the year for his parents.
Carrie Underwood – The Fisher-Underwood clan officially became a family of four on Jan. 21 when Carrie Underwood gave birth to her son, Jacob Bryan. The family shared the news in the form of an Instagram post on Jan. 23. One of the photos in the post features Isaiah, the couple’s oldest son, snuggling his new brother. So sweet!
Angaleena Presley – The Pistol Annies have a fourth member! The band’s Angaleena Presley and her husband Jordan Powell welcomed their daughter, Phoenix Joeleena into the world on Jan. 22 at 7:49 a.m. Her unique name is a combination of Powell’s friend Tony Joe White and “Leena,” which is a family name on Presley’s side.
Jason Aldean – Navy Rome Williams completed Jason and Brittany Aldean’s family when she came into the world on Feb. 3. Navy is the couple’s second child (and Jason’s fourth) after the birth of her older brother Memphis in 2017. “So excited to see what live has in store for this little princess,” Jason said.
Krystal Keith – Toby Keith’s daughter, Krystal Keith, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Kirby Kaye, on Jan. 26. Kirby is Krystal’s second daughter after 3-year-old Hensley, who was eager to meet her new little sister and showed up to the hospital in a set of pink scrubs.
Dee Jay Silver – Country spin master Dee Jay Silver and his wife Jenna Perdue welcomed their daughter, Davis Jessie Perdue, into the world on March 27. She is the couple’s second child after her two-and-a-half-year-old brother, Wake Silver Perdue, and she came as a bit of a surprise to the country DJ and producer.
Jess Carson – Midland guitarist Jess Carson and his wife Camille welcomed the birth of their third child, a beautiful baby girl named Rosalia Jean. She was born at home in Texas following a 100 percent natural birth plan, and she was named after Camille’s grandmother and Jess’ father.
Jake Owen – Paris Hartley Owen, the daughter of country star Jake Owen and his girlfriend Erica Hartlein finally arrived on April 29, with the country star announcing the news in a tender tweet. Fully embracing his role as a father, Owen found welcoming his second daughter into the world especially exciting. Interestingly, Paris shares a birthday with country legend Willie Nelson.

Chris Stapleton – Morgane and Chris Stapleton had the greatest Mother’s Day gift of all: a child! Though she did not reveal the baby’s name or gender, Morgane shared the news in a sweet Instagram post. The child follows the couple’s twins, who were born in April 2018.
Randy Houser – Country star Randy Houser and his wife Tatiana welcomed a son, Huckleberry, in June, and the couple took to Instagram to share the news. The pair received early congratulations from fellow musicians and new dads Jake Owen and Jason Aldean. Huckleberry came into the world just days after Houser performed at the 2019 CMA Fest.
Adam Hambrick – It was a girl for Adam Hambrick and his wife Merritt, who welcomed the birth of their daughter in July. Hambrick announced the arrival of his baby girl, named Heidi Celeste, in a sweet post on Instagram, where he referenced lyrics from his debut single, “Rockin’ All Night Long.”
Tyler Hubbard – Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line is now a father of two after his wife, Hayley, gave birth to a baby boy, named Luca Reed, on Aug. 19 around 3:40 a.m. The child was apparently eager to meet his father, as contraction began shortly after Hubbard returned home from his Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour. The couple originally shared Luca’s name during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.
Dylan Scott – Country crooner Dylan Scott found meaning in his song “My Girl” when his wife gave birth to a baby girl. Born Aug. 28, baby Finley Gray turned the singer’s family of three into one of four.
Brantley Gilbert – Singer Brantley Gilbert became the father of a baby girl when his wife, Amber Cochran, gave birth on Sept. 9. Named Braylen Hendrix, she is the second child for Gilbert, and she joins big brother Barrett Hardy-Clay. “I think a girl is going to be a whole new level of everything, and I’m ready,” the country star said when he found out his wife would be having a baby girl.
Casey James – American Idol alum Casey James and his wife Kelli became parents of three with the arrival of a baby girl on Oct. 15. Names Jocelyn Emery James, the country singer shared the news of her birth with an Instagram post featuring precious photos of Jocelyn and her older siblings Maverick and Lexi.
Jaden Michaels – Rising country singer-songwriter Jaden Michaels, who has written hits for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Carly Rae Jepsen, gave birth to her first child, Maelynn Jane Ritz, on Oct. 15. When she first found out she was pregnant with Maelynn, Michaels wrote the introspective track “Way of Life.”
Brett Young – It’s official: Brett Young is a dad! His wife, Taylor Mills gave birth to their first child on Oct. 21. Presley Elizabeth Young was welcomed into the world at 7:29 p.m., weighing 8 lbs, 2 oz. and measuring 20.75 inches long. The couple was over the moon when they first found out they would be having a baby girl.
Kane Brown – Country star Kane Brown became a father when he and his wife, Katelyn Jae, welcomed Kingsley Rose into the world. The baby girl, also known as “KB3,” arrived on Oct. 29, and was welcomed to the family in a tender Instagram post by Brown.
Canaan Smith – Fatherhood became a new stage in Canaan Smith’s life with the arrival of his first child, a baby girl named Virginia Rose, on Halloween. The singer’s wife, Christy, said that her life had been forever changed by the child in a precious baby portrait posted on Instagram. “We’ve never felt love like this. Feels like life begins now,” the country crooner told PEOPLE about Virginia.
Jordan Davis – It was a girl for rising star Jordan Davis and his wife, Kristen. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter, Eloise Larkin, on Nov. 19 with a sweet post to Instagram featuring the family of three all snuggling up close. The pair decided not to do an early gender reveal, as they were excited just to find out they’d be parents.
Cam – “Diane” singer Cam first surprised fans by announcing that she was seven months pregnant. Just two months later, the new mom revealed that her baby girl had been born via c-section. The sweet little girl was named Lucy Marvel, and is certainly a marvel to her excited parents.
