2012 Do Something Award Nominees Include Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Blake Shelton

Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Blake Shelton are included in the recently-announced nominee list for the 2012 VH1 Do Something Awards.

The Do Something Awards recognize stars for their good deeds and community service. Taylor is nominated for two awards – Music Artist and Facebook. The Music award is due to Taylor’s ‘Speak Now’ benefit concert that raised money for tornado victims in the southeast United States, a $250,000 donation to Nick Saban’s charity Nick’s Kids, and her activity with Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Medical Center and Habitat for Humanity. Her Facebook award comes from her recent invitation for a cancer patient to accompany her to an awards show.

Miranda and Blake are nominated for the Couples award. The nomination comes from the duo staging a benefit concert that raised over $70,000 for an animal shelter and a veteran’s program.

Other nominees for the 2012 Do Something Awards include Katy Perry, One Direction, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, and Ellen Degeneres.

DoSomething.org has been honoring groups and individuals for their community service since 1996. This year, hosts will include actors from the show “New Girl” – Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris. It will tape on Aug. 19 in Santa Monica, CA and air on Aug. 21 at 9:00 PM EST on VH1.
