Here's a list of the country winners from the BBMAs!
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards aired live Wednesday night (10/14) from Los Angeles. Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the awards celebrated the best in music from March 2019 through March 2020.
Country music made an impact on the show as several superstars in the genre had the chance to take the stage. Luke Combs was one of the night’s big winners, claiming three awards: Top Country Artist, Top Male Country Artist and Top Country Album. The singer was also invited to perform his new single, “Better Together.”
Iconic performer Garth Brooks was honored for just that: being an icon. The singer served up a medley performance of his greatest hits, “The Thunder Rolls,” “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” “The River” “Standing Outside the Fire,” “That Summer,” “Dive Bar,” “Friends in Low Places” and “The Dance.” He then received the ICON Award from 2017’s winner, Cher.
BBMAs Kane Brown also took the stage to perform “Be Like That” with Swae Lee and Khalid. Other country winners include Maren Morris, George Strait, Dan + Shay, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus.
Last night’s awards celebration was the rescheduled show from the original April 29 date. The show was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
