The nominations for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards have arrived, with some of country music’s biggest names landing nods for their hard work over the last year and a half.

Topping the country music nominations is Luke Combs and Dan + Shay, each with four total nominations. Both acts not only earned nominations in country specific categories, but also earned mentions in the all-genre Billboard Chart Achievement Award and Top Duo/Group, respectively.

Additionally, Thomas Rhett earned spots in the Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, Top Country Album categories. Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and George Strait will come head to head in the Top Country Tour category. Viral artist Lil Nas X earned 13 nominations in total, several of which for his collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus on “Old Town Road.” However, most of those nominations earned him recognition in the rap categories at the Billboard Music Awards.

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will broadcast live from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Please note that this year’s awards will be based on the chart period of March 23, 2019 through March 14, 2020 per the show’s originally scheduled April 29, 2020 show. The show was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. To maintain consistent tracking for future shows, the original eligibility period remains intact.
