The 2020 CMT Music Awards will air on October 21 in a brand new special-event format, the network has announced.

Originally planned for its traditional June run date and a massive, fan-filled ceremony, the event was first moved to October 14 after COVID-19 swept the nation back in April. But now the show has been set for Wednesday, October 21, with plans to include outdoor performances filmed all across Music City.

There’s no word on the show’s performance lineup just yet, but as the genre’s only “entirely fan-voted award show,” organizers still plan to celebrate country’s biggest stars and “bring Nashville’s one-of-a-kind energy to music fans across the globe.”

The 2020 CMT Music Awards will air October 21 at 8PM ET/7PM CT, with a six-network simulcast across MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop and TV Land. It joins the upcoming ACM Awards and CMA Awards in being revamped following the global pandemic, with all three shows shifting to a virtual-style presentation.
