What’s better than winning an ACM award in the best new artist categories? Having Reba herself call up to tell you the news in live time.

To celebrate the 53rd Annual ACM Awards a little bit early, Reba took her hosting duties to a new level by informing the New Female Vocalist of the Year, New Male Vocalist of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year winners that they would be taking home the trophies in those respective categories.

Lauren Alaina was up first and her reaction, as Reba says, is more candid than ever as the Georgia native instantly starts crying once the news is revealed. Speechless over what just happened, Alaina didn’t even know how to react besides tearing up as her manager, Trisha, thanked Reba for the call. Alaina even got Reba to show her weepy emotions during the conversation, before the “Road Less Traveled” singer joked that she needed to call her parents as soon as possible.

Brett Young kept his cool to the best of his abilities when Reba explained that he was indeed the winner of the New Male Vocalist of the Year category. He told the soon-to-be ACM host that he wouldn’t miss the show for the world, especially now that the ceremony will mean even more to him after being crowned a winner.

Of course, leave it to Midland to turn the monumental career accomplishment into a hilarious moment as they didn’t believe for one second that the phone call from Reba was real. Even when she told them they won the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year category, Mark Wystrach of the band laughed that the band couldn’t even come up with a smart-mouthed thing to say because of their disbelief.

Each of the winners will also perform on the televised broadcast to celebrate their new titles even more so on the big night in Sin City.

The 53rd Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Reba, will air live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
