‘Alabama & Friends’ Concert Special To Air on GAC
Earlier this month, country supergroup Alabama took the stage at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium for two consecutive sold-out shows in celebration of their recently-released project, Alabama & Friends. Fans who missed the show are in luck because Great American Country (GAC) is set to broadcast a one-hour concert event, entitled Alabama & Friends, which filmed during the band’s two-night reign over the historic venue.
Premiering Wednesday, November 27 at 9/8c on GAC, each special guest artist is set to perform their favorite Alabama hit with Jason Aldean delivering “Tennessee River”; Luke Bryan on “Love in the First Degree”; Florida Georgia Line on “I’m In a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)”; Trisha Yearwood on “Forever’s As Far As I’ll Go”; Jamey Johnson on “My Home’s in Alabama”; and Eli Young Band on “The Closer You Get.” Alabama also performs “All American,” one of two new tracks on the Alabama & Friends tribute album.
“For me, they were the Beatles,” said Aldean about country music super group Alabama. “Through Randy’s voice, the songs, his charisma on stage, he had people in the palm of his hand. Watching the reaction those guys got from the crowd was part of the reason I wanted to be an entertainer.”
“They were just perfectly poetic for a southern person,” said Bryan of the group that’s sold 73 million albums and charted 43 No. 1 hits. “They may be big stars but they felt like the guys down the street. They knew who their audience was and spoke right to them.”
The concert will be rebroadcast on GAC on November 28, 1:00 a.m./ET, November 28, 6:00 a.m./ET, December 3, 10:00 p.m./ET, and December 4, 2:00 a.m./ET.
