On With The Show – American Idol to Continue From Home

It’s official – American Idol will continue through the live shows coronavirus pandemic, but in a way we never expected. Across the social media channels for the show, judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, host Ryan Seacreast and mentor Bobby Bones revealed that the show will tape from everyone’s individual homes going forward.

“Let’s do this @AmericanIdol. We’ll all be coming to you from our homes, contestants included. @mrBobbyBones and I from Nashville, @katyperry, @LionelRichie and @RyanSeacrest from California. You guys will VOTE and choose a winner,” said Bryan in a tweet.

Bones added, “How will @AmericanIdol continue? I’ll be mentoring from Nashville. @KatyPerry & @LionelRichie are in Cali. @LukeBryanOnline also here in Nashville. @RyanSeacrest will host from Cali! Contestants perform at their house! America will VOTE and choose a WINNER!”

Idol fans have been eager to find out how the reality competition show would continue with the live shows after the pre-recorded episodes were done airing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Top 20 would compete in the first live rounds beginning Sunday, April 26. More details will be announced soon.
