‘American Idol’ Teases Season Two With Super Bowl LIII Commercial
Who is ready for season two?!
Things are in full swing for season two of ABC’s American Idol. Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry are hot on the hunt for the next big singing sensation and are excited to share who they’ve found with fans.
In a commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIII on Sunday night (2/3), the trio teamed up to give a sneak peek at the new season.
After spinning a football in his hands, Bryan told viewers he hoped they “enjoy the big game.”
“And don’t forget the halftime show,” Perry added during near-minute-long clip. “Performing on that stage is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done.”
“And who knows, maybe one of our new Idol hopefuls will make it to that stage one day very soon,” Richie concluded.
The clip then went into scenes cut from recent auditions, showing high emotions as singer’s continue to chase their dreams.
“In every city in America, you see somebody that’s getting up everyday going to their job, and then you see them grow into Carrie Underwood,” prefaced host Ryan Seacrest.
“We are mentoring these kids,” said Richie in the clip. “We have a chance to say something that could change their lives.”
Season two is already gearing up to be a great run as the show spent several days filming the showcase round at the Disney Aulani resort in Hawaii. It was during their time there that Idol revealed its Top 24 to contestants.
