Country- Favorite Band, Duo or Group- Rascal Flatts
County- Favorite Album- Fearless- Taylor Swift
TMobile Breakthrough Artist of the Year- Gloriana
Pop/Rock – Favorite Female Artist- Taylor Swift
Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist- Taylor Swift
Artist of the Year (all genre award)- Taylor Swift
Swift accepted her awards via satellite from London, where she is rehearsing for her concert at Wembley Arena.
“I want to say thank you to country radio for giving fans a chance to hear my music. Thank you to everybody who came out to see my Fearless tour this summer and this year. Thank you to everybody who follows me on Twitter and goes to my Web site and fan sites. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This means the world to me,” she said when accepting the AMA for Favorite Female Country Artist.
Swift beat out Michael Jackson for, Artist of the Year, the top honor of the night.
“Music has never been, ultimately, about competition,” Swift said in her acceptance speech. “To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson — who we’ll miss and love forever — is an unimaginable honor. I just want to say I’m sending my love to the Jackson family and Janet for reaching out to me the way that you have…And to the fans, you have given me so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and I hope you guys have an awesome Thanksgiving. I miss and I love you.”
After accepting the AMA for Favorite Country duo/group Rascal Flatts tweeted the photo above along with the caption that read, “You all did this!!! From the bottom of our collective hearts……thank you! Peace & love -jdr G & Jay”
Keith Urban dedicated his first American Music Award to his wife, Nicole Kidman, and their daughter, Sunday Rose.
