Plans for AmericanaFest 2020 have been put on hold, The Americana Music Foundation announced on Thursday afternoon (6/11).

“We’re working on something exciting for our community to safely come together and connect this fall, no matter where you live in the world,” they announced in a tweet. “We’ve decided to focus on bringing you this new experience in lieu of holding this year’s #AMERICANAFEST. If you’ve purchased an event pass or applied to showcase, you’ll receive important info regarding refund policy options on June 18.”

The Americana Music Association also revealed that plans for a replacement experience would be announced on June 18.

The change is just the latest in the world of musical even cancellation and postponements. The Country Music Association previously made the tough decision to cancel its 2020 CMA Fest. The Academy of Country Music Awards also postponed its April ceremony and rescheduled for September.
