Amy Grant to Release 30th Anniversary Edition of ‘Heart In Motion’
Time definitely flies!
This summer, Grammy winning Christian artist Amy Grant is set to celebrate a watershed moment in her career. The acclaimed vocalist and faith-pop icon marks the 30th anniversary of her breakout album, Heart In Motion, highlighting the moment with a special commemorative re-release.
Out July 9 and expanded into a double-disc set, the project will feature the original project remastered with a modern-studio refresh, plus remixes of her hits and brand new tracks. Special edition fan bundles and first-ever remastered vinyl version are also available, and it’s all meant to honor a truly groundbreaking project.
Originally released in 1991, Heart In Motion earned a Grammy nod and sold more than five million copies, with five songs landing inside Billboard’s Top 10 — “Baby Baby,” “Every Heartbeat,” “That’s What Love Is For,” “I Will Remember You,” and “Good For Me.” From there, Grant went on to become an icon of Christian pop, helping usher in a new era of the genre’s mainstream appeal.
“How could 30 years have flown by so quickly?,” Grant says in a press statement. “Doing this commemorative project has been so much fun — going through old photographs, reconnecting with so many people who were part of the original project, sharing memories and rediscovering the music that made it and the music that didn’t. I hope people enjoy listening to what we have put together.”
Amy Grant released her latest album, Tennessee Christmas, in 2016, and her holiday focus continues with an annual Christmas residency at Nashville’s famous Ryman Auditorium with husband Vince Gill. Last year, she opened up about a scary open heart surgery.
