Pop superstar Ariana Grande will join season 21 of NBC’s The Voice, the network revealed early Tuesday morning (3/30). The singer will join coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend for the fall installment of the hit series. With Grande joining the coaching team, this means at season 20’s Nick Jonas will not return.

Grande posted the news to Twitter, and quickly became a trending topic. In her tweet, the “thank u, next” singer shared a photo of her perched on one of the famous spinning red chairs and wrote “surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice! @nickjonas we will miss you.”

The show responded to her tweet in all caps, “Best surprise ever.”

In a press release, the GRAMMY-winner shared her excitement, saying “I’m so honored and excited to join ‘The Voice’ family! I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time. I can’t wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level.”

The Voice is famous for rotating its A-List panel of celebrities. While Shelton is the only coach to have appeared on every single season, the other three chairs have rotated through major pop stars. Former coaches include Nick Jonas, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera and others.

The current season of The Voice is airing on NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays.
