Ashley McBryde will be honored alongside some of country’s biggest names this month. She’ll be just the third artist to be given the Breakout Artist of the Year award at the upcoming CMT Artists of the Year event.

Set to air live from Nashville on October 16, the event will also feature a performance from the rising star — who now joins a cast of honorees including Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.

“I’m so excited to share the same stage as this fantastic group of artists and am honored to be there to celebrate alongside them!” McBryde says in a statement about the news.

Already the 2019 ACM New Female Artist of the Year and also nominated for New Artist of the Year at the upcoming CMA Awards, McBryde’s CMT honor marks the third time network has offered the “Breakthrough” distinction — and it puts her in some good company. Chris Stapleton took home the prize in 2015, followed by Kelsea Ballerini in 2016.

The 10th annual CMT Artists of the Year celebration will air live from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center October 16 at 8 p.m. ET, and will feature 90 minutes of music from the honorees themselves — plus Reba McEntire, who will accept the CMT Artist of a Lifetime award — with more performers, presenters and special guests to be announced soon.

McBryde’s latest single, “One Night Standards,” is out now, and she’s appearing on Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour this fall.
