Ashton Shepherd Parts Ways With Universal Music Group Nashville

Following the recent news of Lee Ann Womack’s departure from Universal Music Group Nashville’s MCA Nashville imprint, it appears as if another female country singer has parted ways with the label.

Ashton Shepherd, who hit the scene in 2007 with her debut single “Takin’ Off This Pain,” is reportedly no longer on the MCA Nashville artist roster. Shepherd released two albums with the label – 2008’s Sounds So Good and 2011’s Where Country Grows.

According to MSN’s One Country, Shepherd is currently working on a new album with producer Mike McGuire, who is the drummer for the band Shenandoah.
