Carrie Underwood fans can now get their hands on a copy of Carrie Underwood: A Biography, which follows the Oklahoma native on her journey through American Idol and into her highly successful career. The biography, written byVernell Hackett, also focuses on Underwood’s charitable efforts including speaking out for the Humane Society, participating in a song that benefited Stand Up For Cancer, doing public service announcements for the Do Something youth organization, and touring for the USO.

“I was excited to get to write about Carrie, who has been a great role model for students of all ages,” Hackett says. “She had such a huge following on 'American Idol' with audiences of all ages, which transcended into her music career once she started releasing singles and albums.”

The book is part of a series of biographies written for students to be checked out in public schools and libraries. It also available for purchase online.
