Ding-ding! Time to pack a punch and prepare for a one-two victory with those stellar vocals because the Battle Rounds are officially here on this season of The Voice.

Making their way to the next portion of the reality competition series, the contestants met up with their respective coaches to get a better grip on each of their sounds. Members of every group paired up with their coach’s suggestion, and began the advising process with their team mentors. With the coaches adding their own final thoughts to each rehearsal, the singers came out with gloves at the ready for some singing brawls.

Blake Shelton handed over his country music pal, Trace Adkins, to lend both JessLee and Kyla Jade some pointers. Putting their money on a duel of Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time,” Kyla Jade implemented her rich, soulful sound and JessLee came back with a vengeance by not backing down one bit. Turning the performance into somewhat of a riff-off, the two made the pop hit their own while complimenting each other’s vocals quite nicely.

Nevertheless, Shelton had to choose only one woman to move on to the next step of the show. Despite JessLee having the country pull on Shelton’s radar, it was Kyla Jade that outshined the song itself and led her coach to follow through with her journey.

But Shelton didn’t stop there as he stole Dylan Hartigan away from Kelly Clarkson’s team after he lost in a battle against Brynn Cartelli. His stage presence and confident attitude triggered something in Shelton, and he knew he needed a little more spice on his roster with Hartigan’s pop-influenced sound after hearing his vocal chops on the duet of Taylor Swift’s “…Ready for It.”

Episodes of season 14 of The Voice air on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
