Summer is looking like Billy Ray Cyrus’ prime season as he will be releasing a new album and starring in a television show in the warmer months.

Just after Labor Day, Cyrus will put out his new record, Thin Line, on September 9. Working with a central theme relative to the title, Cyrus said this album is, “how I live my life; it’s a balance of art and reality.” The first single off the record, “Hey Elvis,” was written by Bryan Adams and Gretchen Peters about 20 years ago and Cyrus has been waiting to put the track on an album for a while. Other songs on the album include “Tulsa Time,” which comes out on July 8 and “Thin Line,” the title track that will be released on August 12.

On a steady roll in his career, Cyrus is also starring in a new CMT series called Still the King. The series focuses on  “Burnin’ Vernon” Brown, who had a run-in with the law and is paying back his time to the community by becoming their new preacher. The show also shows Cyrus’ character rekindling the romance between a former love and renewing the relationship with a long-lost daughter. The show airs Sundays at 9/8c on CMT.
