Getting down to the nitty gritty with one of his favorite bands, Shelton sang his cheeky tune, "Doing It to Country Songs," with the help of The Oak Ridge Boys.

Blake Shelton got to live out a dream of his during his performance with The Oak Ridge Boys at the 2016 CMT Music Awards.

Getting down to the nitty gritty with one of his favorite bands, Shelton sang his cheeky tune, “Doing It to Country Songs,” with the help of The Oak Ridge Boys. The guys lent their unique vocals to the performance as Shelton belted out the hilarious lyrics written by Paul Overstreet, who also wrote Shelton’s former hit, “Some Beach.”

Excited about the performance with the band, Shelton tweeted about the moment prior to the show by saying, “Me and @oakridgeboys…. I am beyond honored. #heroes.”

Shelton was nominated for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year and he won the first-ever award for CMT #SocialSuperstar, in which he gave a hilarious speech about his success on Twitter. He is having quite the year in his career as he released his new album, If I’m Honest, to amazing success and has been blowing up the charts with his current single, “Came Here to Forget.”
