A brand new season of NBC’s The Voice is just a few weeks away, so Blake Shelton and the gang are giving fans a sneak peek.

Posting a “First Look” video to socials on Wednesday (September 1), the whole Voice crew (with new coach Ariana Grande included) are expecting Season 21 to be one worth remembering.

Showing off highlights of the new season’s first few episodes, the sneak peak focuses on two things: the hilarious competitive dynamic between the coaches, and the incredible talent of this year’s contestants.

Shelton and Grande have already vowed to fight each other tooth and nail, having come to an understanding on their very first meeting. But once they got on set together, it seems like Shelton is going with the “catch more flies with honey” approach. He even goes so far as to advocate on Grande’s behalf — which immediately makes fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson and John Legend suspicious.

“Ariana is the new coach here and I’m exending an olive branch when im not in the mix,” Shelton says. “I’m trying to help the kid out.”

“What’s happening? Why is he being nice?” Grande says from her swivel chair.

“Never trust him,” Legend replies.

Meanwhile, Season 21’s talented contestants may have more vocal chops than ever before. The First Look clip showcases a diverse group of singers with equally diverse backgrounds, including registered nurses and veterans of the U.S. Navy. But no matter where they came from, they’re all heading for the same dream. And some might make it.

“I love being a part of being able to give someone the opportunity and the chance to be able to do what I’ve been able to do,” Clarkson explains.

“Every now and then you get that artist, that they just don’t realize what they’re capable of,” Shelton says.

Later in the season, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean are both set to come on as Battle Round Advisors, helping guide the hopeful stars alongside Shelton and Clarkson, respectively. But it still seems like this season’s biggest draw is its new addition.

The coaches will have to look out for Grande’s bold self-confidence — and apparently, her new “Thank U, Next” button, too, which Legend experienced first hand in the preview. Check it out in the video above, and tune in to Season 21 of NBC’s The Voice on September 20 at 8/7c.
