Blake Shelton is a busy man. This fall, the superstar is juggling his schedule between headlining The Ten Times Crazier Tour, going to L.A. to film “The Voice,” and preparing for the CMA Awards where he’s nominated for five awards, including Entertainer of the Year.

With a schedule like that, there’s bound to come a time when events will conflict. Shelton learned that the hard way when he found out that one of “The Voice” live shows was scheduled for November 6, the same night at “The 47th Annual CMA Awards.” Fortunately for Blake, he was able to pull some strings with NBC.

“I would like to sit here and tell you it was like John Wayne calling, but have you ever seen a girl cry to get out a speeding ticket? It was more like that type of begging and pleading and crying,” Shelton tells Access Hollywood of when he called NBC executive Bob Greenblatt to ask if they could change the date of the show.

“I really got to him and he said, ‘Man, I can’t take it. We’ll move the show for you so you can be at your CMA Awards,'” Shelton revealed, sounding very relieved.

As for “The Voice,” Shelton hopes to continue his reign. He if takes home a win this season, he’ll earn his fourth win on the show.

Thankfully for country fans, the “The 47th Annual CMA Awards” won’t be sans-Blake Shelton. Be sure to tune in Wednesday, Nov. 6 on ABC.
