Blake Shelton Sues Tabloid Over False Rehab Story

Blake Shelton is suing In Touch Weekly over a false cover story, The Associated Press reports.

The story claimed that heavy drinking led his divorce from Miranda Lambert and that he was headed to rehab after the split.

“Blake Shelton has had enough,” the defamation lawsuit against In Touch publisher, Bauer Publishing Co., claims.

The story also claimed that the 39-year-old had hit “rock bottom.”

“To be clear: Mr. Shelton has not hit rock bottom,” the suit states. It also points out that Shelton has continued his work on the set of NBC’s The Voice and is gearing up for the upcoming release of his Greatest Hits album.

Shelton is seeking $1 million in damages as well as an injunction to prevent In Touch from repeating allegations in the story that’s being disputed.
