Blake Shelton to Voice Character in ‘The Angry Birds Movie’

Blake Shelton will be lending his voice to something other than music in 2016. The superstar will appear as a pig named Earl in the upcoming The Angry Birds Movie.

“They kept saying, ‘More country!’ ” Shelton told Entertainment Weekly. “I felt like I was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard.”

The Oklahoma native was also tasked with writing a song for the film. “I can write things about myself and my life,” he explained. “But I don’t have a whole lot of experience being shot out of a slingshot at pigs.”

The Angry Birds Movie is based on the popular game and will feature the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride. It’s set to hit theaters on May 20.

The Voice coach alsos appear in the film The Ridiculous 6, which is currently streaming on Netflix. The movie stars Adam Sandler, Taylor Lautner, Steve Buscemi, Terry Crews, Norm MacDonald, Rob Schneider, Danny Trejo and Will Forte, among many more.
