Blake Shelton Wins at 2020 People’s Choice Awards

Blake Shelton took home his second straight Country Artist trophy from the E! People’s Choice Awards Sunday night (November 15), and he was also honored as a member of the night’s best Competition Show, The Voice. But his focus seemed to be elsewhere — namely, with fiancée Gwen Stefani.

After announcing their engagement last month, Shelton and Stefani have only seemed to become more into each other … and that much was clear once Shelton got onstage to accept his award.

“Wow. This is crazy. This is absolutely insane,” he began. “I’m so happy that we’re able to have this award show in spite of everything. … Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani. That’s ‘S-t-e-f-a-n-i,’ if you need to Google it to figure out who she is. Thanks for the inspiration and I love you guys, thank you.”

For her part, Stefani shared videos from behind the scenes of the virtual show — which mostly amounted to waiting outside in a car due to COVID-19 precautions and jamming out with Blake Shelton to their current duet, “Happy Anywhere.” But the Instagram story also included a flash of the gigantic, multi-caret engagement ring Shelton put on her hand after five years of friendship and dating.

Elsewhere on the film-and-TV focused E! People’s Choice Awards, Taylor Swift took home the award for the year’s best Soundtrack Song, honored for “Only The Young” in her Miss Americana documentary.
