Viral sensation Blanco Brown is in a Georgia hospital after being involved in a vehicular accident on Monday night (8/31). In a statement released by his record label, Broken Bow Records, the singer is currently in ICU.
“BBR Music Group’s beloved Blanco Brown, the artist behind 2019’s worldwide viral smash ‘The Git Up’ and current hit ‘Just The Way’ was involved in a head-on collision Monday night near his home in Atlanta, GA,” the statement read.
“The accomplished writer, vocalist and Grammy-nominated producer suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he underwent a 12-hour surgery to address those traumas. Additional surgeries are expected as he currently rests in the ICU. Blanco, his family and his friends ask for your prayers during this time.”
This is a developing story.
Brown first went viral in 2019 with the release of “The Git Up,” a high-energy, catchy track complete with a new line dance. The craze was shared among celebrities and fans alike, most of whom posting videos for “The Git Up Challenge.” He released his debut album, Honeysuckle and Lightning Bugs, in October of the same year. He’s currently featured on Parmalee’s new single “Just the Way.”
