Auditions for season two of American Idol are well underway. Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie are hot on the hunt for an amazing undiscovered talent, and once again, they will have the assistance of Bobby Bones in achieving that mission.

The National Radio Hall of Famer will return to the ABC show as the full-time in house mentor for the season two contestants. Bones first appeared on season one to help the Top 24 as they prepared to take the stage with their all-star partners.

His role will be expanded this year as he offers his advice and mentorship throughout the entire season.

“Hey guys, It’s Bobby Bones and I’m super excited… I finally got to announce that I will be the official full-time mentor on American Idol, coming up next season,” he said in a video message posted to American Idol’s Twitter feed. “So you’re going to see Luke, Katy, Lionel, Ryan and well, me. So I’m super excited. I can’t wait to work with everyone and hopefully, make a brand new superstar on American Idol, so be sure to watch and I will see you guys soon.”

Bones’ role as a mentor is just the latest in a long slew of achievements for the radio personality. In addition to leading The Bobby Bones Show, which airs on nearly 140 stations across the U.S., Bones is also busy with his popular BobbyCast and became a two-time New York Times No.1 best-selling author following the release of his latest book, Fail Until You Don’t: Fight. Grind. Repeat. He’s also currently a semi-finalist on Dancing With the Stars.
