Bobby Bones to Release ‘Stanley the Dog’ Kids Book in June
Sounds like a cute story!
Country radio host and TV personality Bobby Bones has announced his first children’s picture book, enlisting his real-life bulldog as the main character in Stanley the Dog: First Day of School.
Sharing the news with fans on Wednesday (June 19), Bones says pre-orders for the colorful story are available now, and the book will be out via HarperCollins Publishers on June 14.
Illustrated by Stephanie Laberis, Stanley the Dog: First Day of School will retail for $18.99 and features 32 pages of family-friendly fun. The story is said to follow Bones’ pup, Stanley, who is anxious about his first day of school. Worried about fitting in and making new friends for the first time, he “dithers” and “dawdles” before disaster eventually strikes, but it’s then that Stanley realizes how to truly be himself.
“I’m pumped to finally share more about my upcoming children’s book,” Bones said in a press statement. “It follows our bulldog Stanley as he navigates his first day of school jitters and being himself in a brand-new situation. True to real-life Stanley, there are plenty of antics along the way! My hope through writing this book is that it will serve as reminder to kids that it’s okay to not fit in with the crowd; your differences are what make you so special.”
As part of the book launch, Bones will donate proceeds from sales to the dog rescue, Wags & Walks Nashville. In addition, fans can get a limited edition, custom designed, signed bookplate for the book by pre-ordering and emailing the receipt along with their mailing address to stanleythedogbook@gmail.com.
