On episode #254 of his podcast, the BobbyCast, Bobby Bones chatted with country singers Adam Hambrick and Ruthie Collins. Before he got into those conversations though, Bobby hosted a music trivia competition between Hambrick and a listener named Alanna. Fans can listen to the full episode to hear the trivia competition. After the trivia, Bobby chatted with Hambrick briefly to see what the singer has been up to during quarantine.

“I’ve been working on music, which has been awesome,” said Hambrick. “There were three songs that we cut during quarantine, and we just went back and forth, me and my producer, we just ping ponged back and forth. I would send the guitar and vocal and he would build the track and I would come back with final vocals.”

Hambrick says he was able to do all this in his new house, which features a studio space, and he’ll be releasing some of the new music in August.

“We’re going to do a series, I’m calling it Flipsides,” he says. “Two-song drops and we’re going to put the first one out at the end of August.”

Later in the podcast, Bobby called up rising singer Ruthie Collins, who, like Hambrick, has had to adjust to the new normal of not being on the road during the pandemic. She says she went to New York to visit her mom for part of the quarantine and decided to rent out her house while she was gone. When she came back to Nashville, the house was still being rented out, so she is now living in her Airstream trailer in her driveway.

“I didn’t have anywhere to live, but I had this 1970 Airstream that I had renovated maybe five years ago to take on the road with the intent of it being a VIP Performance lounge,” she says. “So, I was like, ‘I’m just going to put a bathroom in there and a shower and put it in the driveway and move into that.’ Now I’ve been there for a month and a half and I love it so much that I might not leave.”

In addition to catching up about what she’s been doing during the pandemic, Bobby and Ruthie chatted about her background, including her time at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and what led her to Nashville. To hear more, from Bobby, Adam and Ruthie, listen to episode #254 of the BobbyCast.
