The singer, 78, confirmed her diagnosis to The Associated Press in a statement released on Monday (9/29). Brown revealed that she has stage four adenocarcinoma right lung cancer and that she is being treated in her home state of Arkansas.
Despite her diagnosis, Bonnie Brown says she’s “determined to live many more years.”
Her brother, Jim Ed Brown, who was also a member of The Browns, lost his battle to cancer in June of this year.
The Browns, who are known for songs like “The Three Bells,” “I Take the Chance,” and “I Heard the Bluebird Sing,” will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in October.
