Funnyman superstar Brad Paisley is letting his inner kid out for a good cause this winter, hosting the first ever Brad Paisley’s Celebrity Dodgeball Tournament in Nashville.
Set for February 20 at Paisley’s alma mater, Belmont University, the fun-filled event will be totally official — as it, will feature eight teams of celebs officiated by the National Dodgeball League themselves — and it will also raise money for a project close to Paisley’s heart. Proceeds from the evening of juking and jiving will be given to The Store, a new nonprofit and 100-percent free grocery store Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley are starting in association with Belmont.
Along with the games themselves, Paisley’s tournament will feature musical performances from the host and his friends — plus a number of “surprises” — and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday (December 6). The Store is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2020, and will operate as a referral-based grocery store, allowing people in need to shop with dignity for their basic needs and aiming to empower individuals seeking self-sufficiency. Funds raised from the Celebrity Dodgeball Tournament will be applied to The Store’s annual operating budget.
Meanwhile, Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special is set to air December 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC. The hour-long music and comedy variety show will feature guest stars like Kelsea Ballerini, Hootie & The Blowfish, the Jonas Brothers, Chris Harrison of ABC’s The Bachelor and NFL legend Peyton Manning, plus superstars Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker and Carrie Underwood. Paisley also plans to unveil a new song titled “Alive Right Now” featuring St. Jude survivor Addie Pratt.
