Brad Paisley Teams with Colt Ford For ‘River Bank’ Remix

Brad Paisley, Colt Ford

Brad Paisley’s summertime hit “River Bank” is the latest country song to be remixed.

Instead of teaming up with a rapper like Nelly or Pitbull, Paisley recruited country-rapper Colt Ford.

The idea came after a late night writing session. “Brad and I had never met before, but I love the way he writes, the double entendre stuff he writes. He just gave me a call and said he wanted to get together,” Ford tells Rolling Stone Country of the collaboration.

The pair, along with long-time Paisley collaborator Kelley Lovelace, hit it off and ended up writing two songs together. After their songwriting session, Paisley approached Ford with the idea for the “River Bank” remix, which the pair have cleverly titled, “River Bank Rip Rap.”

“He sent it over to me, I did my thing and he dug it,” says Ford. “A lot of guys are doing remixes and they go way outside the genre [to recruit guest artists], which is cool, but I think it’s cool that Brad asked me, to keep it a for-sure country thing.” (Take a listen to the finished product below.)

While it may have been their first time working together, Ford hopes it’s not their last.

“I’m looking for us to do more together. It’s a good vibe there. The stuff we’ve been writing has been a lot of fun. He’s somebody I’d love to go on the road with and play with. He likes to have fun. He hates golf, but that’s ok…cause he does like fishing” he laughs.
