It’s been a tough couple days in the Paisley household with the passing of Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s mother after a long battle with dementia.

Linda Williams died peacefully at the age of 73 on Wednesday after struggling with the disease for years. Williams-Paisley confirmed the tragic family news to her fans through her social pages with a sweet tribute to her mother.

“I will remember you this way, Mom. Rest in love and peace,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. “Linda Williams: June 22nd, 1943-November 16, 2016 #endalz.”

After a couple days of mourning, Brad Paisley reflected on the loss through his Twitter feed and thanked fans for all of the support they’ve graciously been giving during this time of sadness.

“We are so touched by the outpouring of sympathy for Kim’s mom. Thank you all. After her long battle with this terrible disease, she is free,” he wrote to his followers with a picture of Williams.

Williams is survived by her husband, as well as her sister, three children and five grandchildren. The family is asking for donations to be made in honor of William’s passing to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in lieu of sending flowers or other various gifts.
