When Brantley Gilbert was still a bachelor living the single life, he never really cared that much about the wonder of Christmas. To him, it was just another holiday on the calendar that he got to just chill out instead of work.

But the moment the country star got married, Brantley’s wife got his a first-class ticket on the Polar Express Christmas train to make sure he was as passionate about the festivities as she is.

As a husband who is dedicated to the whole ‘happy wife, happy life’ notion, Gilbert obliges to the winter celebrations even before the Thanksgiving turkey hits the table in order for his love to get into the spirit of the season. Even though he could still stand back when it comes to the yuletide feelings his wife has, he’s grown closer to Christmas than he’s ever been before.

“This is definitely my wife’s favorite time of year. I can tell you probably before Thanksgiving usually, the Christmas decorations will start to go up and you know they don’t come down for quite some time.  And there’s always Christmas music in the house. Christmas has never really been one of my favorite times of year until she came along, but she’s made it awesome and I’m sure this year will be a good one,” he said recently.

Gilbert will take the Christmas holiday to squeeze in a little more rest before his hectic start to 2017 comes, with the release of a new album in January and the beginning of his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour in February.
