Brantley Gilbert Records Breakup Song While Jana Kramer Reportedly Finds New Love Interest
Just two-and-a-half months after breaking off their engagement, it appears ex-lovers Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer are each coping with the breakup in very different ways. Gilbert is putting his emotions into music, while Kramer is reportedly moving on with a new love interest.
Earlier this week, Gilbert stopped by Country 92.5 in Connecticut to share a few new tunes with the radio station’s staff and fans. While previewing music from his forthcoming album, the Georgia native spoke candidly about the recent breakup.
“I thought I was spending the rest of my life with somebody,” he said when introducing the song “Seventeen Again.” He went on to explain how their relationship affected the song, which is about how a relationship can make you reminisce about being young again, and laughed it off by saying, “hindsight’s 20/20″ before playing the tune.
He also played another new tune, entitled “I’m Gone.”
“I think every record needs a breakup and I think a lot of you probably know, or can figure out, what this next one’s about,” he shared. “I’m the type of guy that when I am done with something, I am done. I mean done. There ain’t no going back and seeing if it works again. If it didn’t work the first time, it’s broke, leave it the hell alone. Sometimes people don’t listen and sometimes it always takes one of the two a little bit longer to kind of let go. That’s what this next song’s about. It’s called ‘I’m Gone.’ I’m sure y’all can figure this out.”
He also revealed, “The day that I ended this particular relationship, I had to go into the studio and cut this song, which was not very fun.”
While Gilbert is channeling his emotions through music, Kramer is allegedly moving on with another man. The 29-year-old actress -gone-country singer is reportedly dating Hollywood hunk Scott Eastwood, son Clint Eastwood.
Sources close to the couple have confirmed the news to People Magazine, but Kramer’s rep told People “no comment” when asked about her relationship with Eastwood.
Either way, it looks like Kramer’s been spending quite a bit of time on the West Coast, according to her social media postings.
Gilbert and Kramer’s whirlwind romance began at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. After dating for a few months, he popped the question at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in January. If the engagement didn’t end, Gilbert would have been the “Whiskey” singer’s third husband. The former “One Tree Hill” actress married to Michael Gambino in 2004 and Johnathon Schaech for a month in 2010.
