Brantley Gilbert: ‘What You See Is What You Get’

Rather than create a stage character, Gilbert is all about authenticity when it comes to letting his fans know who he really is.

Brantley Gilbert always strives to remain as authentic as possible. From rocking it out on stage during his concerts to chilling out on his tour bus afterward, he’s just plainly himself throughout it all.

While Gilbert pumps it up during his performances, he doesn’t create an onstage character to channel during his setlist. He just turns on the excited part of him and lets his true personality shine through with some extra energy. Gilbert does this in order to ensure his fans know the real him and not just some surface artist with no feeling.

“I say it all the time, with me, what you see is what you get.  You know, on stage, it’s me, it’s just a more excited, well it depends on the song, really.  All our shows are like the most emotional roller coasters.  Musically bipolar.  So we try to take people through the whole process.  But, they’re watching me.  And they’re watching the band and that has a lot to do with it.  Every band guy’s got his own personality and his own stage act so, you know, there’s a lot to watch up there,” he explained.

Gilbert gets the opportunity to show fans who he is while he’s out on tour for the rest of the summer and into the fall with fellow artists Justin Moore and Colt Ford. He also just updated his setlist for his shows by adding his new single, “The Weekend,” to the mix. Dates and information about the tour can be found on Gilbert’s website.
