As a self-admitted Christmas lover, Brett Eldredge did the holiday proud with his rendition of “Winter Wonderland” during the CMA Country Christmas broadcast.

The country singer switched out his twang for a more dapper sound as he channeled his heroes from the rat pack days on the classic carol. Dressed in his best for the holiday season, Eldredge crooned out “Winter Wonderland” with ease and soul in his rich voice.

Adding that jazzy touch to the country celebration, Eldredge waltzed leisurely across the stage as if to entertain the crowd in a casual, big-band way. He even danced along during the instrumental bridge, filled with the warming sounds of a horn section and thudding drums.

When Eldredge originally went in the studio to try his hand at Christmas songs in 2016, he took the inspiration from artists during the blues period to form his own record. Although he created Glow in the midst of summer heat, the singer still found his yuletide spirit by decorating the studio to merry perfection just as if he lived in the North Pole with Santa himself.

“I dreamt of the day I could record all these classic songs that I’ve loved since I was a little kid. I recorded those classics in New York City and tried to give a tip of the hat to the ones that came before me – Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles – by adding that swing and that soul to the best of my ability. When it came to actually recording, I wanted to live in the experience. We hung Christmas lights in the studio in the middle of May and had musicians from the best bands in the world all in the same room – from horns to strings. Everyone was so inspired to make this classic record. I think it really shows in the songs and I can’t wait for people to hear that magic we found,” Eldredge said about the making of his Christmas album, Glow.

Glow is available everywhere for purchase. A re-airing of CMA Country Christmas will come to ABC on Thursday, December 21 at 9/8c.
