Brett Eldredge has an in interesting way of celebrating success. When “Don’t Ya” first saw its release on the country charts, he made a bet that if the song climbed to the coveted number one slot, he’d hop out of a plane.

“I knew getting a number one song is like winning the lottery,” Eldredge told Radio.com.

Little did he know, he was about to get pretty lucky.

“The next thing you know, it hits number 20 and 15 and 10 and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I might really have to go skydiving and I’m so scared of heights.’ It got to number one and the next thing I know I’m 14,000 feet up looking out the window of an airplane and there I was, I had a number one song.”

Eldredge’s latest single, “Beat of the Music,” seems to be on a similar upswing, and if it hits number one the singer will have to keep walking on the wild side.

“I said I would go shark diving, but it would have to be in a cage,” Eldredge revealed. “If ‘Beat of the Music’ gets to No. 1, I’ll jump into this cage with sharks.”

To clarify, Eldredge would be the one caged up as the sharks swim around him, but that seems to be plenty adventurous for the country star.

“I’ll be in there and hopefully I survive,” he said. “I survived the sky diving, I think I can definitely survive sharks.”
