Brett Young is celebrating his evolving world with brand new music this spring, preparing to drop Weekends Look a Little Different These Days on June 4.

Touching on everything from becoming a father to the lifestyle shifts brought on by the pandemic, eight fresh tracks are said to explore “love, family, loss and everything in between.” Young reportedly co-wrote the entire project, which was produced by Dann Huff (Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett) and features his seventh consecutive Number One hit, “Lady.” And it also includes his newly released anthem, “Not Yet.”

“It’s hard to describe just how ready I am to finally get to share this new project with everyone,” Young shares in a press release. “With so many special moments over the last year-and-a-half and creative jolts translating to writing so many different songs, it was important for me to pick the right ones to reflect where I am right now. I’m grateful and can’t wait to share everything we have planned!”

Talking about “Not Yet,” the hit maker says it speaks to the long-distance relationship he and wife Taylor experienced early in their story.

“Specifically with Taylor, we met 13 years ago,” he told Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country. “At the time when we started dating, I was living in Orange County, and she was going to school at Arizona State. Every other weekend, I was driving there to spend what ended up only being really like 24 hours, when you count driving there and driving back. The first year of our dating life was tons of those moments, because you get there, you want to just stay, but you’ve got to turn around and drive back 24 hours later, so it’s that every single time. You’re staying up too late, because you know once you go to bed, you’ve got to wake up in the morning and drive home. Next thing you know, you’ve got 3:30, 4:00 AM mornings going on, just because you want to maximize the time you can spend. I mean, the first year of our dating life was that over and over again.”

Shortly after celebrating his seventh chart topper in a row, Brett Young turned 40 years old — and celebrated with a surprise trip. He and Taylor are currently expecting their second child, another baby girl to join big sister Presley Elizabeth.
