One of country’s most-distinctive modern crooners is gearing up for a big Christmas season, as Brett Young unwraps the details of two new holiday projects.
Working with some of his country-star pals, he’ll release Brett Young & Friends Sing The Christmas Classics on October 22, with a CMT Crossroads special to follow.
Sharing the news today (September 24), Young reveals an eight-song project focused on traditional favorites, and celebrating the spirit of togetherness. He’s joined with vocal contributions by Colbie Caillat, Sam Fischer, Dann Huff, Darius Rucker, Maddie & Tae, Chris Tomlin and Phil Wickham, with “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” (featuring Fischer) out now.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to make a Christmas album one day, it was just a matter of figuring out how I could do something a little bit different,” Young explains. “We tapped into an old school, lo-fi sound with ‘Silver Bells,’ and knew we had the blueprint for a full album. It means the world that so many incredible artists who I respect were open to singing with me on the project … we don’t take the title ‘Brett Young and Friends’ lightly!”
Meanwhile, Young and his cast will bring the album to life in a holiday-performance special, with CMT Crossroads Christmas: Brett Young & Friends arriving later this year. Young is currently on tour, having released his third album, Weekends Look A Little Different These Days, in June. His current single, “Not Yet,” follows an unbroken string of chart-topping hits.
