Brett Young is Ready For Baby’s Arrival: ‘I’m Really Excited to Dive Into It’
They're ready to meet their little girl!
Brett Young and his wife Taylor are as ready as they can be for the impending birth of their baby.
Merely weeks away from the arrival of their first child, a daughter, Young revealed to Sounds Like Nashville and other media backstage at the taping for the 2019 CMA Country Christmas special that they are prepared with two important factors – car seats and the nursery. “It feels like we’re at a place where we have enough things in the house and in the cars that we could keep her alive, which is actually a good feeling because that was the goal, to get to the ‘keep her alive’ place and now we’re in the day to day,” he shares.

The couple has constantly been putting the baby’s needs before their own, with Young admitting that the new home they bought this year has taken a “backseat” as they focus their attention on the nursery and baby proofing the space. Though the country star admits that his headspace has been “all over the place” as he’s spent the past year balancing marriage and preparing for the baby with his music career, he and Taylor are embracing a grounded mentality when it comes to parenthood.
“Everybody gives the same advice, ‘you’re never going to be ready, but then you’ll just figure it out.’ We’re going to try to stress out as little as possible, but she’s coming whether we like it or not,” he laughs. “We’re fired up. My wife is a rock star and I’ll try to keep my eyes open at any point that I think she might need help.”

The “Mercy” singer is also looking forward to taking an entire month off to focus all of his energy on his wife and new child, a longtime dream that will soon become reality. “I think about it all the time, but I’m also going to work every day, so I’m really excited for the time that I have to shut my brain off of anything but wife and baby, just because it is something that we’ve wanted and been looking forward to for so long,” he says. “I’m really just excited to dive into it and surrender to it.”
Young and Taylor announced they were expecting in April. Though a due date has not been released, the couple has said the baby will arrive in early fall.
