Brett Young has scored his seventh country radio chart topper with the tender ballad, “Lady,” and this one means more than the rest.

Hitting Number One on both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay Charts, “Lady” is the continuation of a long hot streak for Young — going all the way back to his debut single in 2016. Since “Sleep Without You,” he’s become one of only four artists to send their first seven singles to the top — but “Lady” is special, since it was written as a message to his young daughter, Presley, in honor of his wife, Taylor.

“There aren’t many words to describe how this one feels… I’m still wrapping my head around seven in a row, then for it to be on a song like ‘Lady,’ is so incredibly special,” Young said. “I’m forever grateful to the fans, radio and all of our partners for embracing it like they have, making it a soundtrack to their lives and sharing their own stories back with me. Thank you all and can’t wait to share what’s next!”

“I hope you look just like your mama / And love her like I do / You’ll see close to perfect patience / If you watch her every move / You can always run to daddy / You’ll always be my baby, but / Look at her, baby girl / And you’ll learn / How to be a lady,” goes the heartwarming hit.

Meanwhile, Brett Young may be inspired to write another tune soon, as he Taylor announced they’re expecting baby number two. He just went on The Kelly Clarkson Show to share the baby’s gender (it’s a girl!), and also revealed the smitten romance of “You Got Away With It” in early March.
